Chiropractic Care

We provide advanced spinal correction and chiropractic adjustments utilizing "state of the art" chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic care have chiropractors been able to provide the level of help and expertise that is available today. Many of the newest chiropractic techniques are actually safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before. As a chiropractor who cares about utilizing the most advanced chiropractic techniques, Dr. Bruce Goldberg has years of training, expertise and experience in helping patients get pain relief for back pain, neck pain, headaches, and other related conditions originating from the spine. Chiropractic care under a trained professional can even be used to prevent injuries and help you achieve total health or wellness.

Acupuncture is a treatment based on Chinese Medicine--a system of healing that dates back thousands of years. At the core of Chinese medicine is the notion that a type of life force, or energy, known as qi (pronounced "chee") flows through energy pathways known as "meridians" in the body. Each meridian corresponds to one organ, or group of organs, that governs particular bodily functions. Achieving the proper flow of qi is thought to create health and wellness. Dr. Goldberg who earned his fellowship in 2000, from the International Academy of Medical Acupuncturists, is an expert in diagnosing and treating the areas of blocked energy flow, which can cause disease, pain or inflammation in the body. To restore "balance" to the qi, Dr. Goldberg inserts needles at specific points along the meridians which are close to the surface of the skin. He is also trained in utilizing electro-acupuncture to stimulate the deficient points along the same pathways to produce a positive effect on the body, thus decreasing pain, and improving function.

There are hundreds of clinical studies on the benefits of Acupuncture. At our center we have helped alleviate chronic and acute back pain, neck and arm pain, sports injuries including sprains and strains, whiplash after a motor vehicle accident and sciatic pain. The World Health Organization, and the National Institutes of Health recognize that acupuncture can be a helpful part of a treatment plan for many illnesses. A partial list includes: addiction,(drugs and alcoholism) asthma, insomnia, bronchitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, menopausal symptoms, osteoarthritis, sinusitis, tendinitis, tennis and golfers elbow and urinary problems such as incontinence.

How many treatments will I need? The number of acupuncture treatments depends on the complexity of your condition and whether it is acute or chronic. For example, you may require only one treatment for a recent wrist sprain, while a long term illness may require treatments for several weeks to months to achieve good results.

Should anyone avoid acupuncture? In general, acupuncture is safe and well tolerated. There have been many studies including one large one that monitored adverse events associated with 34,407 treatments, in which there were only reported 43 minor negative effects. Tell Dr. Goldberg about any treatments or medications you are taking and all medical conditions you might have. This gives the doctor the best chance of diagnosing and treating your particular ailment and getting the best possible result in the shortest period of time.

Does medical insurance cover acupuncture treatments? An increasing number of insurance providers cover all or part of the cost of acupuncture treatments, but many have restrictions on the types of conditions they cover. We will check for you to see what your policy offers. Dr. Goldberg also has affordable care plans to assist you in any way possible to receive the acupuncture care you need.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy does more than make you feel good, it can actually help your body achieve balance and health. Massage therapy offers a natural  treatment approach which actually relieves musculoskeletal pain for many patients. At Goldberg Wellness our Licensed Massage Therapists (LMT) provide specific massage and muscular therapy that is complimentary to their chiropractic care. Each massage therapy plan is tailored to meet the patient's unique pain condition or injury. The benefits of massage therapy may include the increase of blood circulation, a localized reduction in swelling and the relaxation of muscles. Massage has been known to relieve muscle pain and spasms, increase a patient's range of motion, while also aiding in a patient's recovery. Our therapists also have additional training in reflexology. Reflexologists believe that appropriate pressure to specific points and areas on the feet, hands and ears can have a beneficial effect on the corresponding organs they may innervate, as well as on the persons general health. Some investigative studies have even indicated that a single session of massage may help boost your immune system! At Goldberg Wellness, we make health affordable, and have many plans to assist you in receiving the care necessary to achieve your optimum health potential.

Corrective Exercises

At Goldberg Wellness & Acupuncture Center, we teach our patients how to perform special "blueprint" exercises which can help strengthen and correct the irregularities in their body which may be causing pain. Many of these corrective exercises can actually be performed in the comfort of your own home to help improve the effectiveness of your chiropractic care and spinal correction plan. In addition to skeletal misalignment, you may be experiencing pain that is caused by muscles and connective tissues which are out of their proper place. Other types of pain such as back pain, neck pain, and headaches are caused by muscles and tissues that are being used improperly, causing injuries over time. In each case, targeted corrective exercises and stretches from our experienced chiropractor will help you feel good while also helping your body achieve balance and health.

Lifestyle Advice

Many of our patients come to see our chiropractor to address a specific pain symptom such as back pain, neck pain or headaches. While our chiropractor will address each patient's specific condition with chiropractic care, we often find it helpful to "coach" our patients towards achieving a healthier lifestyle. For example, there may be certain activities that you should avoid or do differently to prevent yourself from unintentionally aggravating your particular health challenges. The goal of including lifestyle advice with a chiropractic care plan is to help each and every patient achieve the fulfilling and happy lifestyle they deserve, one that is full of the activities that are enjoyed most. We recognize that every single one of our patients is a whole person, and we use our expertise to help them reach total health and wellness.

Nutritional Counseling

What does nutrition have to do with chiropractic care? The goal of chiropractic care is to help patients achieve total health and balance with their body, and as part of that goal we provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices. Nutritional counseling by our experienced chiropractic health professionals can assist a patient on their return to optimal health. Do you know which supplements and vitamins are good for you? Do you know how these supplements and vitamins interact with one another? At our Palm Beach Gardens chiropractic clinic, we can provide each patient with a structured nutritional program that is based on their individual needs.
